                                            best package design!




When choosing one product over another, the design of the packaging probably influences your decision far more than
you realize.

Effective packaging design breaks away from the standard rules and conventions that we are accustomed to, giving the
product a unique edge to stand out from the rest.

The packaging should appeal to your target market. It’s also vital to ensure that you’re conveying the necessary informa-
tion about the contents and quality of the product, while triggering the desired emotion in your customer.

How to create effective packaging;
Designing a good box isn't difficult if you stick to a few basics. A box is more than just a package to hold your product.
It also serves as a proxy for you to sell your product. Effective packaging results from a well thought out design from the
consumer's point of view. A good design will catch a consumer's eye and want to make them pick up the product for a
closer look, and, eventually, head to the register with it.

You can not just tell the consumers to buy your product, you need to design a package that will support your message and
will speak for itself. But always be careful that your package will not result in a TV commercial on shelf. Both media
platforms should support each other.

Package design is a specialism that can not be explained in just a few words but here are some basic rules that help
for creating effective packaging:

• Spending time up front defining the look and feel of the box on paper will pay dividends down the road.
• Less is more. The most elegant, appealing designs are usually quite minimalist.
• Come up with a comprehensive list of product benefits. This list will later be trimmed to only the most important points.
• Keep pictures and graphics to a minimum. They should demonstrate what the product does in a very clear manner.
• Key visual equities; think of a key visual that will make your positioning strong and stay consistent by using this key
  visual through out the product line.


Balance your design mix of colors, text and pictures until it flows well. Get feedback from colleagues - they can be your
best critics, and can give you ideas you hadn't even thought of. Finally, refine, refine, refine until you get just the right mix
of design, colors and benefits that will be irresistible to consumers walking down the aisle.

Remember, you're designing your package for fast consumer buying decisions - you need to get the message across
quickly.
